Infrastructures
eSSENCE are connected with several infrastructures to enable our research.
HPC2N – High Performance Computing Center North
HPC2N is a national center for Scientific and Parallel Computing.
It is collaboration between universities and research institutes who form a competence network for high performance and parallel computing, grid and cloud computing, scientific visualization and virtual reality (VR), as well as effective mass-storage solutions, in Northern Sweden.
LUNARC – Centre for Scientific and Technical Computing at Lund University
LUNARC provides computational resources for academia in Sweden within all aspects of computational science.
The center has been in operation since 1986. As of 2003, the services are synchronized with five other centers within the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing, SNIC.
UPPMAX – Uppsala Multidisciplinary Centre for Advanced Computational Science
UPPMAX is hosted by the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University and is one of the six centra in SNIC. UPPMAX is also part of the SweGrid national grid.
Funding comes from SNIC, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy.
