Top Cloud Experts Gather in Sweden for 18th Cloud Control Workshop

The 18th Cloud Control Workshop took place on June 17–19, 2025, at Skåvsjöholm in the Stockholm archipelago.
This workshop brought together leading minds in cloud computing from academia and industry. This exclusive, invitation-only event hosted 109 participants from 15 countries, including 35 full professors and 25 senior representatives from major tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Amazon, and Ericsson.
Continuing the successful format of previous years, the workshop featured a mix of invited talks and in-depth discussion sessions. Industry leaders and researchers alike exchanged insights on the future of cloud technologies, with companies like Tietoevry, Evroc, NetApp, Telia, Saab Kockum, and Combitech also among the attendees.
“We saw a phenomenal turnout from some of the world’s most influential researchers and key industry players,” said Erik Elmroth, Professor at Umeå University and organizer of the workshop. “It’s a strong signal of how important this forum has become for shaping the future of cloud computing.”
