eSSENCE@LU New Projects Talks 2026, Part 2

The eSSENCE call for proposals in Lund in the autumn of 2025 resulted in eight projects (out of 45 proposals) formally starting 1 January 2026. There will be an opportunity to learn more about these new projects in a series of three sessions held online over Zoom. After the talks, there will be a chance to chat with the speakers and other participants.

The programme for the second session is:

  • 10:30 Welcome + introduction
  • 10:35 Scalable e-science pipelines for near-infrared spectroscopy of red giants: From stellar parameters to galactic centre archaeology - Nils Ryde (Astrophysics)
  • 11:00 Small but mighty: Phage-encoded disruptors of bacterial antiviral defences - Vasili Hauryliuk (Molecular Enzymology)
