Call for Satellite Meeting Proposals, Swedish e-Science Academy 2026

Swedish e-Science Academy

The Swedish e-Science Academy will take place in Uppsala on 14–15 October 2026 (lunch-to-lunch). We are now inviting proposals for satellite meetings to be held in connection with the event.

Satellite meetings may take place either before or after the main programme and are expected to last half a day or one full day. They can focus on a specific research topic or address broader e-science themes such as visualisation, AI in research, cloud and HPC technologies, or methodological development within a given field.

eSSENCE will provide support in the form of meeting rooms and refreshments (coffee/tea). Additional support may be available depending on the specific needs of the event.

Previous satellite meetings have covered topics including:

  • Digital humanities
  • Numerical linear algebra
  • Visualisation
  • Large-scale code development
  • Federated machine learning
  • HPC user support

How to apply

Please submit a one-page proposal no later than Friday, 8 May at 12:00 (noon) to Stefan Engblom at: coordinator@essenceofescience.se.

Your proposal should include:

  1. A description of the satellite meeting topic
  2. The organising committee
  3. A draft programme, including suggested speakers if relevant
  4. Preferred timing (before or after the main event), if applicable
  5. Expected number of participants and their areas of expertise
  6. A brief description of the expected outcomes

If additional financial support is required (e.g. extra hotel nights for invited speakers), please include an estimate. One hotel night is included for all registered participants in the main event.
