SNIPSS 2025 in Växjö: Meetings, ideas, and inclusion with support from eSSENCE

With support from eSSENCE, SNIPSS 2025 was finally held in person in Växjö, offering an inclusive meeting space for researchers from across the globe.
SNIPSS 2025 took place in August, bringing together researchers in stochastic numerics and inverse problems for the first face-to-face meeting after several years of online seminars. The greatest benefit was that participants could finally meet in person, which gave new energy and led to several initiated discussions about future collaborations. Although no new projects have formally started yet, follow-up dialogues are ongoing between several groups.
Support from eSSENCE was crucial for enabling the conference to take place in person while remaining inclusive and open to participants with different financial means.
“Without the support, the conference fee would have had to be unreasonably high. With eSSENCE’s support, we were able to create an inclusive conference where doctoral students and researchers from smaller universities, as well as participants from other countries, could attend,” says organizer Monika Eisenmann from Lund University.
Opportunity to apply for funding next year
Within the eSSENCE MeetUps framework, it will again be possible to apply for support for conferences, workshops, and other research-gathering activities. Researchers with ideas for new meeting places are encouraged to submit proposals and apply for funding. Read more and apply.
